Wild steelhead that love chasing skated flies!

In 1988, during my first year as a river ranger for the bureau of land management, I rowed well over 1000 miles of this river. Learning the ins and outs of the grande ronde river. Forward 25 plus years with thousands of miles rowed and countless fish landed, I know this watershed better than any I guide; from Anthony lakes and the Eagle Cap Wilderness to the mouth at Hellers bar. We start fall season September 15th and run until October 31st. Multi day trips to mid Oct. then more one day float trips are offered.

Trips are available from mid September through mid October. Then one day floats until the 31st of Oct. G.R.A also conducts Smallmouth Bass trips in June/July. min/max. 6.

In addition, I also offer amazing trips with Dec Hogan  each fall . Dec usually attends the earlier trips of the steelhead season, preferring warmer water temps , a dry line and skated fly techniques this river is famous for. Dec teaches his signature Spey School for three days and two nights while we float the Grande Ronde in style. This trip follows his book "A Passion for Steelhead" perfectly, so bring your copy and have Dec give you a personal autograph. Now he and Marty Howards fly tying book as well are available. Adding value to a already amazing trip with other special guest guides.

Side note on Tipping multi day trips vs. a single day.

Multi day trips we are at your service 24/3 cooking, guiding, setting up and taking down camp/outhouse etc...and we GRA work as a unit/splitting tips. Thus tipping for this trip would be 100.00 a day per person. Single day trips are 50.00 per person for a good baseline. Thanks!

Travel options: You can fly into the Pullman or Lewiston airport and arrange a shuttle or get a rental car. The Airport is a one and a half hour drive from Boggans, where we meet at 8 am to start the trip. The drive from Seattle-6 hours/ Portland-6 Hours/ Boise-6 hours.

Boggans is located off highway 129 an hour from Clarkston, WA and an hour from Enterprise, OR. Right at the only HWY 129 bridge over the river. assuming they are open its a good place to be evening prior to your trip. Another options are the New Best western in Clarkston.
